When I was 14 years old, God etched on my heart a burden to reach and rescue lost and hurting young people. It took place in 1993 at a retreat for pastor’s kids in Jacksonville, Texas, and I remember it well. There was a missionary from Africa speaking that summer night in the open-air ‘tabernacle’, and he said there were young people here who had a call to enter into ministry on their lives. In that moment I sensed the Lord speaking to me and He gave me a great vision of working with young people as a missionary.
That momentary revelation was very brief, but it kept repeating in my spirit over and over, and I never let that calling fade from memory. It’s a call I have ran from, but have never forgotten. To revive that call in my heart, God orchestrated several confirmations through various pastors over the last year, as well as in my own spirit—and He has renewed the passion to pursue it within my soul. And so today I am in a season of preparation to answer that call. I’m pursuing a Masters degree in Ministerial Studies through Global University, planning on becoming an ordained minister, and taking steps to enter into full-time ministry in the next couple of years. What exactly the call it will look like, and where it will lead me, I do not know yet. But I walk in faith, because I know our God plans and purposes nothing less than the perfect and powerful for His people—so we can stand on the other side of the finish line in victory, having won the race, and hear ‘well done, well done.’
Your partnership is absolutely crucial as I transition from a 14 year career as a Creative Director at a design agency to full-time missionary. Supporting me and my family as we navigate this season of change, expeditiously propells us towards the calling God has placed on our lives.
In the months to come I'll be laying out more details concerning my transition into missions, as the logistics are worked out, but I'm excited to see what He has in store. Through his journey I'm walking in faith because I know our God plans and purposes nothing less than the perfect and powerful for His people—so we can stand on the other side of the finish line in victory, having won the race, and hear ‘well done, well done.’
Thank you for standing with me in reaching the lost and broken.
